The Lahontan Audubon Society seeks to help restore, preserve, and improve habitat for birds and other wildlife and to provide education about birds and their habitats in Northern Nevada and adjacent areas of California. LAS is an independent, 501 (c) (3), nonprofit organization, founded March 1, 1972. For the past 50 years LAS has been organized and overseen by a volunteer Board of Trustees elected from among its members. Today, LAS has approximately 450 members.
